Well, I couldn't justify going to the NEDRA Late Night nationals, so I took the Piranha to the local Harley Drags instead.  Turned a lot of heads and answered a lot of questions.  In an attempt to lower the 48V motorcycle record once again, I made a gear change, but appears to have been the wrong move.
A few things went well.  I laid down reaction times of 0.063, 0.098, 0.054, 0.028.  I don't believe I was beat all day on the tree.  Put down 60' times of 2.054, 2.054, 1.988, 2.048.  A sub 2 second time has been a mark for me for a while now.  And that was with TRACTION problems.  Due to the damp, cool, overcast weather plus the deeper gears, I didn't get a single run without tire spin off the line.  Even after decided to learn to do burnouts.

Back lightly into the water.
Set the motors for parallel.
Grab all the front brake I could.
Launch.
Drop onto the seat to start the smoke rolling.
Ease off the brake and blast half way to the staging beams.

A couple tries and I was a pro.  Oh, except for when I was doing a burnout while the guy in the other lane went on ahead to the staging beams.  The starter didn't hear me lighting 'em up back at the water box, so he let the other guy go without me?

About the only thing I haven't tried is changing the gearing between 1st and 2nd gear.  What are you guys with 2 speeds running for gear ratios?  Or if you're running 2nd and 4th gear?  I don't think I've got enough leap from 1st to 2nd, as I can't seem to SUCK AMPS when I grap 2nd gear.  Any thoughts?
