Thanks for the correction, John. I feel for you on
the 'purist' comment, but I look at it like this: we
dont know what condition the bike was before the
conversion. Since most of the conversion bikes are
from accidents or engine/tranny neglect, it's possible
the insurance or original owner had declared it a
non-recoverable bike. We have to look at it like
hotrodders, we mod the bikes noone else wanted or
thought not worth their time.

I am sure that (in the future) good performance bikes
that have been converted need to visually appeal and
attempt to meet certain performance points (which is
another reason I was drawn to the site and the
excellent builders that are here). I.E. I would hate
to be the guy that took an electric Ducati with an
ugly battery box to a rally and brag that it can go
50mph. But, I am hopeful that improvements are on the
way. I think our community is another piece to the
larger puzzle for those improvements. I also think we
are getting more noticed, too.

Hey, Mike. Is it me or are we getting more hits than
last year? Besides the spam filter.

BTW FYI to all our members, Mike installed a filter
for the site that has been doing wonders at blocking
all the visit-my-site in the comments sections. Its
seamless except for an occasional administration
cleanup which is easy, but it's been working at
keeping spam like see-my-teen-mom-wife-eat-golfballs
from appearing. I think Mike needs a little attaboy
every once in a while. All these little things add up
to making the site great. Thanks, Mike.
