Well yeah Mike, they're just machines. Here's a car story ( sorry) a friend used to be a Porsche mech. This new 928 kept coming in to the shop with dirt and grass up in the fenders and undercarriage ( that was an $80k car back in the day when that was real money). Finally it actually had manure under it too. So he goes around front and finds the owner and asks him what the heck he does with this car. Guy says he has a mutli-thousand acre ranch, but his pickups keep breaking axles, so he just drives the 928 which doesn't have much clearance but seems to hold up better.

For the R1 I was more offended that they chose a bike with all the wrong characteristics to carry all that weight. A big ol' Harley would be better. Now converting that R1 to H2 would be cool. For me EV is also just a means to the end. If the H2 storage and supply problem was solved, or somebody created another genuine carbon-free green fuel, I'd go right to that instead.

But that's just me, it's ok to just be interested in one tech, like guys get interested in one make, or one type of bike. I still like gasoline, too. ;>)

*I'd take it to the track and try my damnedest to drive the wheel out from under it THEN I'd pull that nasty engine. I hear what you're saying. Why take a machine that's capable of 160+ mph for 100+ miles and throw a lot of money at it so it goes 80 mph for 10 miles?
