Been reading up quite a bit on past posts, watching videos and the like. A friend and I decided this would be a fun little project. Goals are 10-20 miles, hopefully with about 45-50mph top speed.

I have the El Ninja book on the way, I figure it will be a good reference even though I don't think we'll be following it to a T.

We are starting to look at donor bikes, since that seems to dictate a lot of what's possible. I saw a recommendation for using a 1L bike that has an aluminum frame. There just so happens to be one for sale in my area with a motor that sounds like its on the way out.

What do you guys think? 1993 CBR 1000F

Some more on our current directions..
  - probably 48 volts, Perm 132 motor?
- if realistic, I'd like to use the Thunder Sky LiFEO4 packs, despite the higher cost

Comments?

Thanks, I'll continue my research..

-Nic
