You can check http://www.fireblades.org/forums/ There's a bunch of
guys who know a bit about the CBR series.
Are you sure THAT CBR has an aluminum frame? Honda redid the 1000
several times in recent years.
As far as I can tell the 93-98's were all the same frames, and were
all aluminum. Sounds like the 929's were super nice bikes as well,
and possibly a bit lighter, so that might make a decent base as wel.
Lithium is magical and mysterious to me so I hope smarter folks
than I will chime in on this.
Indeed, still trying to sort that out.
Thanks for all the advice everyone, totally agree with all of it.
Not quite to the buying a donor bike stage yet, but this conversation
certainly helped me weigh the pros and cons of that particular
model. (difficulty of welding on AL being a great one)
