I tried using the 330 series Comet and found the minimum engagement lost
some 600 or so rpm. The belt-TC was rated for too little power as well but I
was not ready to sink the bucks needed for the 500 series and the heavier
belt. You need the heaviest weights and disengage the springs to get it to
engage the belt at near zero rpm. Keep in mind the comet is meant to rotate
CCW and was meant to drive a left side chain. When I was using the comet I
ran my motor CCW, not the preferred rotation of a PMG-132.

The only part of the Comet setup I am using is the motor jack shaft mounting
plate which I modified to mount the the motor facing the right and running a
second chain to the jackshaft.

I agree a manual change would be preferable but it will take some
re-engineering to make the existing parts work. Good luck. Jeff 84 Honda
