It seems to me the changes should be proportional. If you have an electric
with a range of 15 miles per charge and you increase the efficiency by 20% then
you will have an 18 mile range. If you have the same bike as a gasser with 150
mile range and you improve the efficiency by 20% then you should have a 180
mile range. Of course, that may be exactly what you are saying. All that
trouble to only gain a mile or two in range?

I do not believe these Vetter fully faired bikes are practical for on road use.
Between the nuisance they create as a rider and the fact that a good stiff
cross wind may cause some serious problems I would not consider using one.
Also, they help more at higher speeds and less at lower. At lower speeds
rolling resistance is more of a factor than aero. Usually somewhere between 30
and 40 mph is where the aero starts to be the biggest factor.

calculations, i found that a very aero electric bike might only improve the
range by 2 or 3. i think that the extreme range increase for the gas bike [5
to 10 times more], is because the gas bikes start off with such a low
efficiency that it can be improved greatly, but an electric bike starts off
with a higher efficiency so its harder to improve it.David Herron <[EMAIL

I absolutely agree -- I have one of his fairings and am scratching my head over
how to mount it on my Lectra. Will be sharing as I go along.BTW, the Aptera
fits his description of the perfect shape ..ah.. perfectlyAnd I saw a couple
days ago he's right now working on putting his fairing onto a Honda Helix. He's
showing all sorts of detailed pictures on getting a fairing onto a motorcycle.
It looks very interesting.- DavidPaul compton wrote:> Everybody trying to get
