Fran,

I am interested in participating in your Summer Tour. I will watch for
details as they are available. My car has a range of 40 miles if driven at
speeds up to 45 mph with modest acceleration. Compared to Andrews car this
is limited. I am not sure how cars with such varied capabilities will
participate together. With some thought, I am sure we can work this out.

I was considering a similar activity on my own. I am not sure how to
address the charging problem. I have considered buying a generator. Sort
of defeats the purpose though, burning gas to charge.

I have started a new subject for this activity, with the hop that it will be
eassier to follow.

Cheers,
Al Lococo

Excellent, Al. I will be filling you and the rest of the FLEAA forum in with
the details of our 2 month trip this summer to promote EVs. Andrew Roddy has
kindly offered to participate in this trip. We will be happy to have his
good skills for as long as he can participate in it. It will be through the
state of FLorida, and we welcome the participation ( I mean, we REALLY need
the participation of) the FLEAA people who have knowledge, those who have
vehicles, and those who are working on EVs and those who just have an
interest in getting started.
I am working on the website. We will attach a blog so people can stay in
touch with where we are and have input, and know when we will be in their
city. I will try to get the basic info to the group this next week.
Again, congrats, Al! I, too, feel that working on the release of the
car-sized NiMH battery is crucial the the fast progress of EVs. I say, "We
can do it!" ("We" being thousand of involved EV enthusiasts and
environmentalists.) Fran

Hey, You have an Ebox! I just saw one at the Battery Beach Burnout in Miami,
and it did beautifully! I just finished talking with Stephen Taylor in
Atlanta. He hopes to get delivery of his in May of this year.
Let's talk. Perhaps we could combine our energies and do this trip together.
My expertise is media. Do you have the free time this summer to do an
extended trip throughout FLorida? You could perhaps do this with my family.
I like the idea of a family presenting the electric vehicle because I think
that for wider spread pressure on the legislature, we need that "family"
approach, if you know what I mean. But we don't havea your expertise to
answer the "engineering" type questions that inevitably arise druing a
presentation.

Lee Hart has been a wonderful help in preparing us for this trip.
Off to do my biking. Hope to talk with you soon. Fran

  Hi Fran,

I think you have a great idea.

I thought about doing something similar and having the media involved to
document the progress.

I received my eBox in September of 2007 and I have been to a number of
events since then.

I drove my eBox from Palm Beach to Orlando to the 2007 Renewable Energy
Expo and the International Auto Show, and to another annual auto show just
north of Orlando.

I also drove my EV to Tampa from Palm Beach to the National Governors
Conference, a total of around 220 miles one way.

This coming summer my family will be taking some type of electric vehicle
throughout the state of Florida in June & July to demonstrate to Floridians
that electric vehicles have come a long way since golf carts. Our purpose is
to encourage people to consider buying any vehicles which burn less fossil
fuel.

We would like to trailer a family size EV sedan, highway speed with a
decent range.

If you have such a vehicle that we can lease, buy, or borrow please let us
know.

So far, our family will be funding the whole cost of this trip. Hopefully,
we can get some businesses to offset some of the costs, but, if not, we will
pay for all of it.

We feel that the issues of global warming and escalating gas prices are at
a level that we, as a family, must do something significant to help. Our
skills as individuals fit this project. We call it The Electrical Vehicle
Initiative.

If you have any questions that I can answer for you please call 850 656
5409. Or you can email [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks! Fran
