Matt,

I don't think I have Read Receipts on but the previous poster did ...
tell me if I'm wrong.

Why don't you just add a custom page with the features you want - it
will survive service packs. If you edit aspx pages & xml files that are
shipped with Sharepoint, all bets are off when it comes to service
packs.

The only trick will be adding the page to navigation so that users can
browse to it.

BTW. Read receipts are not cool for mailing lists.

Subject: [OzMOSS] REFERENCE LIBRARY REQUIREMENT

Hi all ...

I'm still working on my "document library that is purely for reference
items" issue. The challenge can be expressed this way ... I want a 'Read
Only' view of 'allitems.aspx' but with the 'Upload' and 'Create Folder'
buttons added back.

I've seen a few posts about changing List Menu items - adding and
deleting - but they mostly seem to involve adding or commenting out
lines in xml files and the like.

Is there some 'safe' method for achieving what I want ... one that will
survive a Service Pack installation for example.

Thanks in anticipation,

Warwick Moyse
