Maybe it was a UI delay, though the Read Receipt confirmation showed up while I was reading your message.
I always click No to sending a read receipt, and when I'm the admin on a exchange server, the server gets the option for not processing them ever. Delivery receipts are fine, but I find read receipts to be somewhat rude. If you edit aspx pages & xml files that are shipped with Sharepoint, all bets are off when it comes to service packs. The only trick will be adding the page to navigation so that users can browse to it. BTW. Read receipts are not cool for mailing lists. I want a 'Read Only' view of 'allitems.aspx' but with the 'Upload' and 'Create Folder' buttons added back. I've seen a few posts about changing List Menu items - adding and deleting - but they mostly seem to involve adding or commenting out lines in xml files and the like. Is there some 'safe' method for achieving what I want . one that will survive a Service Pack installation for example.
