This can sometimes be due to the EnablePMTUDiscovery flag in the registry, or
so it seems.

Scroll down to the EnablePMTUDiscovery value and take a read.
Some people have witnessed this error coming back when they request large URLs
via a GET request, you may need to use netmon or at least ISA logging to see
what's happening.

It might be something less sinister. Debug it!

Do you have an ISA server between the client and the host?

Subject: [OzMOSS] Issues with editing content on WSS sites using Forms
Authentication

Has anyone experienced issues with editing content on WSS when the site is
using Forms Authentication?

Editing or deleting list items works until the change is to be commited by
click on the OK button at which point a "The page cannot be displayed" error is
encountered.

The technical information shows:
Technical Information (for support personnel)

 * Error Code 64: Host not available
 * Background: The gateway or proxy server lost connection to the Web server.
 *   Date: 4/09/2008 3:50:20 AM
This same error is shown for other content editing tasks such as uploading
documents. What is bizarre though is that it effects some pages, lists or
libraries and not others.

If I login using Windows Authentication everything works fine, so I'm fairly
sure its related to the Forms Authentication.

Any thoughts?
