Yeah it definitely sounds like you've got some digging to do in and around your
ISA set-up.
It seems to be dropping its connection between the ISA server and the wfe.

Might not hurt as a first step to turn on the ISA server logging, reproduce the
error, stop the logging and inspect the logs for anything suspicious. You may
need to drop down to netmon if all else fails. It may still be the MTU issue.

Authentication

Okay, thanks guys. Apparently I'm also having issues when
authenticating via Windows Authentication. This time when committing
changes to the same page I received:

Explanation: The remote server reset the connection.

Try the following:

    * Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh
button. This may have been a one-time error.

If you are still not able to view the requested page, try contacting
your administrator or Helpdesk.

        Technical Information (for support personnel)

    * Error Code 10054: The server you are attempting to access ended
its connection with the gateway.
    * Date: 4/09/2008 4:18:11 AM
    * Server: <a server :)>
    * Source: Remote server

Rather than clutter the list with piecemeal updates I'll go away and do
some more research, including our ISA server set-up.

I'll be back with something more coherent, I promise. :)

David.

I would go along Matt's lines. When you state "that it effects some
pages, lists or libraries and not others"...are you sure it's not an
intermittent thing rather than specific pages. IF it is specific
pages...are they ghosted?

Do you have an ISA server between the client and the host?

Subject: [OzMOSS] Issues with editing content on WSS sites using Forms
Authentication

Has anyone experienced issues with editing content on WSS when the site
is using Forms Authentication?

Editing or deleting list items works until the change is to be commited
by click on the OK button at which point a "The page cannot be
displayed" error is encountered.

The technical information shows:
Technical Information (for support personnel)

 * Error Code 64: Host not available
 * Background: The gateway or proxy server lost connection to the Web
server.
 *   Date: 4/09/2008 3:50:20 AM
This same error is shown for other content editing tasks such as
uploading documents. What is bizarre though is that it effects some
pages, lists or libraries and not others.

If I login using Windows Authentication everything works fine, so I'm
fairly sure its related to the Forms Authentication.

Any thoughts?
