You must be granted specific root Could you please check your account to see if it is in the SharePoint Administration group? A Team Foundation Server administrator must be a member of the following groups: Team Foundation Administrators. SharePoint Administration group in SharePoint Central Administration. SQL Server Reporting Services Content Manager SQL Server Reporting Services System Administrator. In order to add a person in the Team Foundation Server administrator role, you must set permissions in Team Foundation Server groups, Windows SharePoint Services groups, and Reporting Services groups. This server was installed 18 months ago (more or less) and we've been using it with no problems. I've been administrator since then with no issues.
