Hi Brian,

I have four or five clients currently running TFS in fully virtualised
environments. These cover both TFS2005 and TFS2008 (B2) and both
Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 and VMWare ESX. We have not had any
significant issues due to the virtualisation of these products and in
two of the client sites they are being used by over 120 users in both
Australia and offshore.

I'm currently using Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (RC)
to manage the Virtual Server 2005 installation and I'm using the P2V
capability as V2V to backup the running VMs to a backup server. So far
to good J

Cheers

Subject: [OzTFS] Virtual TFS?

Hey Guys,

I'm doing a lot of testing at the moment - predominantly service testing
- to see how much my server can handle.

At this stage I know I cannot possibly run everything i want on the
single server, but i don't use all services consistently..eg. some
services aren't used for weeks on end.

That's why i wanted to take a look at virtualisation for what i'm
running. Before i get to this stage and start building my virtual
servers/images I was wondering if anybody here has had any experience
with TFS in a virtual environment?

Anything i should look out for? Anything you can recommend?

Any help accepted ;)

Regards
