Alastair,

I have seen this issue when a machine is moved from a dual-monitor to
single-monitor environment and it was exactly that, a dialog appearing
on the "second monitor" that no longer exists. These are some possible
solutions:

1. When the dialog is shown, hold down Alt-Space to bring up the
dialog menu, then press M to select Move, press any arrow key to start
the move, then if you move the mouse on the current monitor the dialog
should jump to the pointer's location. This new position will be
remembered.

2. Reset the Visual Studio Settings. Tools->Import and Export
Settings->Reset All Settings. I haven't tried this but I believe this is
where the window locations are stored.

Regards,

William

Subject: [OzTFS] VS2005 Hidden Dialoge Box

Hi All,

We are having an issue with 2 of our development pc's - there are 8
others working fine (all built on a standard SOE etc)

The issue is that when they add a new file to their project which is
under source control, the IDE just hangs and the only way out is to end
task.

It doesn't happen all the time, but more often than not

It feels like there is a modal dialog window open but it is under the
IDE so you just can't get to it.

I have tried using the replacement alt Tab power toy to try find it -
but nothing.

They are all using vs2005 connected to TFS. OS - Win XP patched up to
the latest.

Any suggestions?

Alastair
