Try this:

Do a checkout from TFS2008 to create the local workspace (I'd assume it'll just 
be an empty folder at this stage).

Copy your source from the TFS2005 workspace to the TFS2008 workspace.  You 
might want to do a clean on the TFS2005 project first so you don't copy bin/obj 
files, etc.

Use the TFS 2008 Power tools command "tfpt online" (check the options) in your 
TFS2008 workspace folder.  You should then see all the files as pending adds 
and you can do a check in from there.  Job done :)

Heya,

What are my options for copying the source tree from a project on a TFS2005 
server to a project on a TFS2008 server? I'm thinking I can do it via a local 
workspace copy/paste but I'd like to know what other options there are. Source 
control history isn't required but if there is an easy method that will bring 
that across that would be a bonus.
