Take a look at Scholastic. Many class sets are cheaper and come with a teacher's guide. You can also order classroom library sets that are cheaper. You can get bonus points to order even more books. I can't remember the last time I paid for my own classroom books. I get them all with bonus points. Kristine Nader St. Paul of the Cross

Subject: [LIT] How should I spend this money? I have $200 I can spend on books. Originally, I was going to purchase a class set of Bronx Masquerade. Last year, I just read it aloud and put the pages on the document camera, which worked ok. But I think I might want each student to havve a copy. But then, I started thinking and I really want to get some books for my class library. I lost a bunch of great books last year. Which do you think would benefit the students more? -- - Heather "The world of books is the most remarkable creation of man. Nothing else that he builds ever lasts. Monuments fall; nations perish; civilizations grow old and die out; new races build others. But in the world of books are volumes that have seen this happen again and again and yet live on. Still young, still as fresh as the day they were written, still telling men's hearts of the hearts of men centuries dead." --Clarence Day "While the rhetoric is highly effective, remarkably little good evidence exists that there's any educational substance behind the accountability and testing movement." -Peter Sacks, Standardized Minds "When our children fail competency tests the schools lose funding. When our missiles fail tests, we increase funding.
