Think about also when the book comes out in movie form- I'm thinking about Bridge to Terabithia and Hoot. I much prefer the original covers... Oh Tena, This made me laugh!! I hate to admit it, but I really DO judge a book by its cover and no matter how I love the author, etc., I really hate picking up a book I don't like. Case in point: I'm a HUGE Barbara Kingsolver fan, yet I hate the cover of the Poisonwood Bible and have never managed to read it, even though my reading group still insists its an all-time fav. I think it's important to point out to kids that publishers change the covers a lot without changing the content (I usually show them my old Outsiders, circa 1970 with today's version.)
