Hi Beverly, My district is using Daily Grammar Practice as well, Beverly. We have only been using it for about half of the year, though. I like it, though. The spiraling curriculum seems to be helpful to our students. Our district is also using a spiraling curriculum for math, which seems to be helpful to students for long-term retention.
Next year, I'm going to start the year with all of the parts of speech, etc. (not the first couple weeks of school, but once I know the kids, etc.), spend a couple weeks teaching the parts of speech explicitly, and then use Daily Grammar Practice to review this stuff with them all year. The thing I love about it is that it only takes a few minutes each day and then the rest of the writing period can actually be spent on imagine....writing!!! How refreshing!
