Melissa, what leads you to this little informal survey on homework?
You ask a pretty leading question -- did you intend to sound biased?
Alfie Kohn and Robert Marzano have had an intriguing sort of dialogue
going in Ed Leadership the past two months--or was it in the Kappan?
I get those two mixed up!  I can't take the time right now to look.
Read those two articles and rephrase your question and I'll be glad to
respond.  This is such a hot topic right now--my school has a
committee who met with three other middleschools last week and an SREB
consultant to work out a homework policy and a redo policy...I'm eager
to see the outcome.  I've some stuff I can send you if you contact me
offline.  I've been gnawing on this conundrum for over a year now.
Mybe I better take Will Rogers advice (see below).
