I saw a very cool idea at a workshop but I know I can't remember all the details. I'll explain it and maybe someone else knows what I am talking about and can fill in the gaps.
the student reads a book (very important!) On a file folder they do the rest top flap thingy- Title of book, author, #of stars (1-5 1= not liked, 5= loved) outside of file- a picture of something inside of file left- synopsis of book, author bio, and some other stuff inside of file right- the cover of the book- the jacket, intended audience ages, words that are important to the story back- summary of book back of flap thing- student's name The teacher laminates the folder and keeps them for ever and ever. When a student wants a good book they go to the files and there lies a plethora of information.
