I also enjoyed A Great and Terrible Beauty and I'm looking forward to reading Rebel Angels
I just finished Surrender by Sonya Hartnett..... which I loved. The plot kept me reading all night, but I also found the writing beautiful. I'll be reading it again, slowly, paying more attention to the language and choosing passages to share as examples of craft in writing workshop. Have any of you read it? I'd love to know your thoughts. Thanks for sharing titles - I'm putting Elsewhere, Blue Bloods and The Wednesday Wars on my wish list to order soon. Subject: Re: [LIT] vacation reading See, I absolutely LOVED Elsewhere - one of my favorite all time books - and I could not stand Lovely Bones! I will have to check out The WEdnesday Wars. Oh, I also really liked A Great and Terrible Beauty (followed by Rebel Angels, 2nd in trilogy)! A really good mix of historical fiction and fantasy. I liked Blue Bloods, a vampire book - wasn't sure if I would like it or not but it was entertaining. Not the best literature, but fun! And I agree with your last statement. I really love young adult literature. Many times I cannot find adult novels that are written the same way, so I tend to stick with the young adult :) ves at http://snipurl.com/LITArchive _______________________________________________ The Literacy Workshop ListServ http://www.literacyworkshop.org To unsubscribe or modify your membership please go to http://literacyworkshop.org/mailman/options/lit_literacyworkshop.org.
