Hi, A lot of my research is based on collaborative learning, so I understand (and completely agree with) the value of these conversations (in literature circles or other avenues). However, I am a little surprised about the comment regarding silent reading. I hate to use the term, but in 'real life' we all read silently and need to master that skill. When does your professor feel we should turn over the responsibility of reading to the individual student? I am very interested in this conversation and I am always open to learning new ideas that will benefit my students. Thank you for sharing with us.
