I've just upgraded an eMac from OS X 10.2.6 to 10.3.3. Have reinstalled
LS therein. I am using Panther's "fast user switching" feature to switch
from an admin account to a user account and back as I reinstall apps.

I had downloaded a new app using Firefox, and when immediately
thereafter it was launched, LS told me this app was trying to "call
home." I set a rule to deny communication with that home server.
Upon next switching accounts, I received a message from LS to the effect
that "a kernel module" had tried to deactivate LS, and that LS had
re-activated itself.

Can anyone here shed additional light on this event, to help me
understand if this "deactivation" is simply an artifact of the "fast
user switching" or is it a sinister attempt to prevent the blocking of
calls home?

Thanks
Bill
