I have just recently noticed something similar. Suddenly on booting up my iBook G4, when I got to the Desktop, a LS alert came up about something called "smbclient" wanting to connect to a particular Server. I had not launched anything and there have not been any changes recently to my iBook. Anyone know what smbclient is?
