Yeah, now there's all these Unix newbies (speqking!) with superiority
complexes (joking--sort of) amongst many a furrowed-browed old-schooler. ;-)

Seriously... Having done a bit of due diligence on the history of Unix
before starting my journey into Terminal-existence has expanded my computing
horizons more than I could ever have guessed. I've even turned an old PC
into a Linux box and attempted (to no avail) to put NetBSD on an old PPC
9600 (may save that project for when I'm old and in the way).

While I have always been primarily a Mac user, I have always held an
affinity for the Windows PC just because there was always access to the
command prompt--And having access to an underlying OS via a CLI seemed to,
in my mind at the time, to constitute the WinPC as a 'real' computer.
(Please keep in mind that it was not until recently that I came to
understand what Unix, Linux and open-source projects are all about--Mighty
powerful-good stuff--So I don't want y'all to think I equate DOS with
Unix--it does pale in comparison, me thinks.)

OK, well... Enuf tooting my own horn--let me get back to nursing this
hangover, being bored at my own, self-made business, today, so I can try to
comprehend why no one has air-dropped MREs and H20 to the folks suffering
stranded on the Gulf Coast--what a catastrophe :-(
