Yes, with my Earthlink email software I can delete marked text. What I liked
(one of the very few things) about AOL was I could highlight the text I wanted
to be replied to in the original message and when I hit REPLY that would be the
only part transferred to the new message.

I use and recommend highly a Google product called "gmail." It's free, easy to
use and has an excellent spam filter. When I reply to an email and want to
only include part of the original email, I just highlight the part I want to
delete and hit the delete key. It's too easy. This technique probably works
with your Earthlink program as well, but I could be wrong.
