I used the PYI shaft coupler. It's only an inch thick, and there was enough 
prop clearance I was able to simply insert it in the drive train without 
altering the propshaft.

A major drivetrain overhaul was done at the same time - new motor mounts, 
engine realignment, flexible shaft coupler, propeller rebuild, and new 
cutless bearing, When it was done the vibration (and noise) transmitted to 
the cockpit was tremendously reduced, but who know how much was due just to 
the coupler?
