I think one of the best sources I have found for selling a boat is at www.Sailboats4sale.com

We have used it for two different boats. Although my second boat sold on the net ended up selling through a separate listserve for that kind of boats to one of the other subscribers, I had many leads from the Sailboats4sale site.

They make no charge for their services and allow the placement of one picture.

I have also found an excellent resource to be the use of www.craigslist.com

Craigslist allows a localized web site to be set up for the sale of items, and allows it to be anonymous so that your EMAIL address will not be discovered until you respond to the individual responders email. This keeps you from getting spam generated.

Additionally you can put up to four pictures on line for free and a huge text explanation with your ad and it will get a lot of traffic too, and will be up for 30 to 45 days. When you post it, you can note the url address and then post that in the text of your other adds,
so that people who are interested can see more info.

Finally, the last suggestion is do not fail to put a for sale sign on the bow of your boat if it is legal to do so at your marina. Sometimes when posting the for sale sign on the railing you can also note the web page there. If the web page address is too long, consider shortening it by putting the web page into a shortener at
www.tinyurl.com

Good luck.
