I found many places won't respond favorably to questions about
liveaboard accommodations over the phone. If one shows up dressed
nicely with pictures of a well-kept boat (or sails in) they are much
more open-minded.

My current marina does not allow liveaboards. I travel enough that
they accommodate me as long as I am not a "full-time" liveaboard. I
don't have any other home, but as long as I'm not there every night
that seems to be okay with them.
