I'm all for it Janet,, however our follies as well as our successes should be considered. I believe, if the reasons for not reaching the goal can be properly assessed, there is as much (if not more) to learn from failure.
How much experience do we have on this board with personal activism? How many have actually stuck their necks out? Who among us has risked the censure and vengeance of our "free" society? How many have allied themselves with those few brave souls who have attempted to stem the rising tide that is drowning our chosen style of living? And how many more have cast off their lines, eased their sheets and left them swinging in the wind? I have had some experience with organizing boaters - Honest answers to the above questions will indicate to you the range of success I have had. Maybe he could be of help in locating her, and both of them could give considerable insight into the problems of organizing a collective from a group of individuals whose reason for living as they do is to escape the collective. Currently there is an extremely important legislative process going on in Florida regarding anchoring. This list has been silent on the issue. I once posted news of pending federal legislation that will affect all of us, Subsequent posts on this topic never made it onto the list. We are a suspicious lot - and especially of any one who may be in any way compensated for their efforts. Most are content with the delusion that if it gets too bad here we can always go 'somewhere else'. We fail to realize that 'somewhere else' the same thing is happening.
