Sounds like you have an electrolysis problem.
One way to find out is to tap them with a hammer. Good Bronze will sound
sharp. Honeycombed electrolysis plagued will thud. Watch out though, If it
is as bad as the other it might break off.
Color is also a good indicator, but even the best thru hull might have a
bit of pink on the surface.
Best to do the tap test in shallow water ;-).
