Rob as you said this is not a list topic but it also fore some off
as non armchair captains is.
You have all the rights as a brother in God to believe so and act so,
BUT, you have no right to deny me the right to believe and act so.
Political orientation has nothing to do with the right for self defence and
ownership of means of self defence what ever an individual chooses so.
I would not take the life of anyone who does not put a threat my and mine
lives. But I will certainly let him know that I have the power to do so
when the situation arises as it has in the past. My boat is my castle
and I will not act like a spineless chicken in defending it.
And as I said in a previous reply in regards to Canadian justice system
I rather be judged by 12 members of a jury than carried by 6 in my funeral.
Thank you for your understanding.

Subject: Re: [Liveaboard] recent info about Venezuela
This entire thread about guns aboard boats or in your residence or hidden on
your person is getting into the ridiculous. I am being lambasted with all sorts
of reasons dating back from the American Civil war justifying the possession of
guns.
This entire thread started when we had one person report a problem with
thieves in the Venezuela area and all of a sudden we have to arm ourselves to
repel boarders. I don't even think that report was from personal experience but
rather some thing that was heard about.
Then we have another report from someone who is there who says there is no
problem with thieves boarding their vessels.
Let's put this to the list members, how many of you have needed a gun on your
boat for protection from human predators?
As for those who have been emailing me stats etc about this offlist I will
not be responding any further, either here or offlist.
