It is important that those with
first hand experience share what they know. We are planning
to keep our heavy catamaran going south as the hurricane season
ends to join friends off Venezuela at Isla Margarita and will explore
from there.
I was told by my friend who is there, that FWIW, Melody Pampas who runs
the Caribbean Safety and Security on 8104USB @ 1215UTC, said just
last week, "that while a lot is going on right now in the Carib, we
need to
take what we read on the internet and elsewhere with a grain of salt".
Too many "official sources" and repeaters out there, so that by the
time everyone reports the incident it loses perspective. Are there ever
any thefts off boats in the US?
