The ones who made it to the reservations were the lucky ones. Of course, there is also the issue of slavery which was an essential part of our free nation. And how we "liberated" Texas from a nation that had abolished slavery and brought it into our county as a slave holding state. Consider that for a moment: those guys at the Alamo were fighting to bring slavery to a free territory. We can also look at what we did to the Filipino's after we supposedly liberated their islands from the Spanish. The war with Spain did not last long. But we spent years fighting Filipino's who did not want to be ruled by us.
