Hi Anne - Sorry to miss your call the other day - I should know where I'll be this winter later in the week. > From: "Charmaine" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [Liveaboard] Plain and Simple HTML > > I can't imagine anyone who was concerned about > bandwidth or downloading being on this particular > list. It's full of junk and gunk add on's that drive me > nuts too. It's downright messy and difficult to follow... > at least it is for me. The e-mail addresses I use offshore certainly aren't signed up for any lists. Gunkholing in the Chesapeake and sailing the Bahamas and BVI I do use a datacard and wifi that often are slow. So, yes I do care about bandwidth. "Top-posting" and leaving a long string of reverse-chronological 'history' chews up all kinds of time; further, for readers who get lists in digest form it makes following the list harder than it needs to be. Please don't send the same stuff out over and over. > From: "Eric T." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: [Liveaboard] Mail Format > > I did not think "Rich Text" was the same as HTML. > If I am wrong please tell me as I currently AM using "Rich Text". "Rich Text" is not the same as HTML. It is however as bad or worse. At least HTML is (or should be) in accordance with a non-proprietary standard. Rich Text is a Microsoft invention that includes all kinds of MS tags for fonts and (IMHO) foo-foo stuff. In the end, both hugely increase the amount of material transferred. sail fast, dave S/V Auspicious _______________________________________________ Liveaboard mailing list [email protected] To adjust your membership settings over the web http://www.liveaboardnow.org/mailman/listinfo/liveaboard To subscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] The archives are at http://www.liveaboardnow.org/pipermail/liveaboard/ To search the archives http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] The Mailman Users Guide can be found here http://www.gnu.org/software/mailman/mailman-member/index.html
