Well said, CT. I can see a Porta-Bote on a long passage - light weight and easy to stow on deck.
For gunkholing, coastal cruising and shorter passages, I'll stick with my sometimes leaky Caribe for convenience and comfort. I was surprised to find that the Porta-Bote costs about the same as a RIB. I thought they would be less. Oh, well...
