I'm afraid not, Skip; the engine in the eu2k is much smaller and
radically different in design. Incidentally, I don't know what fix you
found for the pull cord, but my solution was crude, simple, and
effective: I pulled the cord out all the way and soaked it in WD-40.
Worked fine for months, showing minimal to no wear... but this still
does not excuse Honda's bad design.

This is true - and I've met quite a number of them who have had nothing
but trouble with theirs. It seems that you have to be lucky: some of
these units work OK, while others can be found in the dictionary (see
the entry for "lemon".) Paying out a grand or so each time you run into
a bad one is a bit much for most folks.

Also, in searching the Net, I've found _no_ source of any but the
simplest parts for the eu2k (filters and such) - and Honda simply
refused to sell me anything direct. As to dealers selling anything more
than case screws, they just laughed; they make their money through that
little trick.

I'm not sure how this is supposed to be better than a Kipor, with its
*theoretical* lack of parts availability in remote places.
