John,

there are some papers out there written by highly respected people  
that do not agree with the adage that 2 micron filters are ALWAYS  
better than 10.

Yet, there are people on this list, and on another list, that have  
real world experience that goes against the experts.

My perception as a nuclear engineer is that it first light, cleaner  
is always better, i also know that if I stick to what the diesel  
engine manufacturer recommends, I cannot go wrong.

It does come down to a personal decision.... and in this case, either  
may be right...
