I have used Racor 2 micron filters as my primary for 35 years. I have only one
instance of them clogging and that is because they weren't changed in 3 years
because of very low hours on the engine during that time. I now have a vacuum
gauge on the filter in place of the T-handle and will be able to better monitor
when a change is needed. By using the 2 micron filters as my primary, I need
to change my secondary filters (more difficult to change) less frequently.
If 2 micron filters clog too frequently, go with the next bigger sieve (10
microns).
