Ahoy Yanni,

Loved meeting you and your friend in Annapolis!

Thanks for the tidbit about "Tsangaris", about like a "Tinker" in English.

I suppose the most famous duct-tape repair was by Jim Lovell and crew aboard
Apollo 13, one NASA is undoubtedly proud of.

BTW, that incident also generated the most famous misquote I know of. I heard
on the original audio track on a DVD of Apollo 13, "Houston, we have a
problem." was actually "Houston, we've had a problem." (past tense).

Norm,
To explain further, we use the word "shoerepairman" as a person who has a small
bench in the corner of a street of a poor neighborhood and does patch-up shoe
repairs.
The word is "Tsangaris" ("a"s as in apple) and we refer to anyone who does a
patch up job
like backyard mechanic who ia proud of his duck-tape bodywork type.
