Solder can wick out beyond the terminal barrel and defeat strain relief as it is brittle. The reason that ABYC specifies stranded wire is for the same reason - more flexible and less likely to fail owing to vibration.
Having said that, on my first sailboat a major marine electrical firm (they did tugs and fancy yachts) in NY fitted me out with raw metal terminals and told me to crimp them and then fill from the bottom with solder. Then I used shrink wrap - no adhesive in those days. Everything worked fine for 18 years. Walmart carries insulated 3M terminals with adhesive-lined shrink wrap ends. Top quality and economical.
