WELCOME TO THE LIST Tom! There is a lot of wisdom here. Many folks have come and gone over the years!
Its always great to see folks who live aboard here. We can asure you that excitement awaits you on your journey. Please be free to ask questions and share your answers to others. I have been on this list since 1997 or so when it was based in Canada. We learned much. We moved aboard in 2005 at a marina on the Chesapeake just south of Annapolis. We sold our Iowa home in 2006, auctioned off all our stuff (experience of others on this list convinced us not to get a storage unit as several had paid many thousands while cruising and could not even remember what they stored!) We left docks behind and took off doing the ICW in 2007 and have done five coastal trips between the North and South ends of the USA. We left the country in Dec of 2008 and have 20 stamps in our Passport from living aboard while cruising through the Caribbean from the Bahamas through Venezuelan waters and back. ST MARTIN was one of the places we visited several times and loved. We are now up in Gloucester, MA where we have rediscovered blankets and sweatshirts! We will be working at both the Annapolis Sail and Powerboat shows to replenish some of our kitty in October before going south to Florida again this year... waiting for May when we will take off to cross the Atlantic so we can live aboard for the winter a year from now in London (I am a History buff and it sounded like a good idea to stay there for a few months starting in late 2011). Thanks for saying Hi Tom. Welcome to you & others new to the list.
