You can't go wrong with a Racor. I have two, a 1000 for the main engine
and a 500 for the genset.

Be aware you should size the Racor to the engine fuel flow. If you use an
oversized unit (to lengthen the time between filter changes perhaps) the
swirl in the water separating chamber at the bottom of the unit will not be
fast enough to do a good job. I would contact Racor for advice.

While on the subject I suggest also you install an electric fuel pump and a
few gauges to show the condition of the filters. I use 15-0-15psi gauges
available from McMaster-Carr, a great on-line super hardware store I buy
from all the time. They have the stainless case, liquid filled (necessary
for a on-engine installation to prevent vibration from destroying the
internals in the gauge) units that I like.

McMaster-Carr (mcmaster.com) is a huge treasure chest of hardware. Plenty
of stainless and plastic stuff ideal for boats. Go to their web site and
explore.
