We moved Angel Louise last night within the bay at Onset, MA We cruised down here from Gloucester as there is more protection from wind and better holding in this sea floor here than in Gloucester. We are now a mile off the Wesern side of the Cape Cod Canal. We kinda moved into the bulls eye. The current track of the center line is predicted to be going only 57 miles South East of the boat. Too Close for our likes. But it certainly adds a little adventure to our life! We are worried as Hurricane Earl is heading in our direction and we are forecast to be in a Hurricane Watch. We can float well enough but 145 mph max winds would be a tad breezy for us.
At least it is still and beautiful and quiet here this morning. We have anchored off a place named Shell Point in Sunset Cove. We will put out all 4 anchors before the stormy weather blows rough Friday night. The hurricane (if it hits Cape Cod) will pass over in a period of just a few hours... (we think at max 3hrs) If its going to be a direct hit or the winds stay this strong (Category Four at this writing) we may want to leave the boat. But where do you go? We are thinking the brick fire department building in Onset, MA sounds like a good spot to head for after we have done all we can to protect the boat if we are directly in line... Here's hoping you get better weather and a nice weekend. The forecasted tropical storm strength never happened. The wind died instead of built, and we got only a spattering of rain. Stay safe!
