We are in Florida, moving down the ICW today, and will stop at our prior owners dock in Lighthouse Point, just north of Ft Lauderdale.
Angel Louise is back afloat after a stop at the Cracker Boy boat yard in FT PIERCE on Jan 10th, all new standing rigging from MACK SAILS in STUART, under supervision of Colin Mack and his crew, including a FACNOR behind the mast furler. We traded sail size for ease of use and safety of not having to go forward in most circumstances at sea. We are going to make a crossing of the Atlantic to the AZORES and then to ENGLAND in MAY of this year.... 99 days to our hoped for shove off somewhere on the East Coast. Sue and I are hoping we do not get too banged around, but have already made reservations for the winter at the St Katherines docks in downtown London, which charges 30% of their normal rates over the winter. I have dreamed of living in London, and doing so as a live-aboard is about the best way we could see to do it. So for six months we will hunker down in the cold at night (may get a drip diesel heater of some kind? Refleks ???) but in the day will visit every Brittish naval museum and sight we can get to! We imagine the crossing going West will be better than the one going East. You cannot beat the live aboard life, IMHO. Have any of the list members tried out TWITTER. We got turned onto it by my son and find it a wealth of information even if you do not send out 140 character short messages. It can send out positions and pictures almost with ease that can be picked up by others who either subscribe to your messages, or log in on the web to see them as I show below. What a resource.
