Well, no. :) But it does give you a) the capability of plugging in
wherever you can't install a range plug as well as wherever you can,
b) the reduced possibility of a fire aboard, c) the ability to service
at least 90% of your power chain.

That's a reasonable idea. Still leaves you dealing with problems at the
dock end, but I've found that many of those can be mitigated by twisting
the plug prongs slightly, which increases the friction (and thus the
contact) and lashing the plug down at the pedestal.
