I wish him the best. His situation is exactly the same as mine. My surgery is scheduled for just about the same time. I've been fighting the problem for almost a year and it's time to solve the problem and move on, as drastic as that sounds. The risk of infection (especially the MRSA, I'm fighting) is life threatening. There are many support groups to help him though this time, I volunteer in one.
Take care! Jan's son David has lost his fierce fight to save his foot. Damaged in a motorcycle accident, it was broken into three pieces. After months of intense pain involving multiple bone and flesh surgeries, a record number of hyperbaric treatments, painful skin grafts, PIC lines, and almost daily medical appointments an intractable infection has set into his bones and is moving up his tibia. His foot will be removed mid-calf on May 9th. Jan and I wish to thank everyone who have expressed concern for his well-being.
