Easy way to update (probably any program):
Check the "help" at the end of the list of things you can do at the top. Check
"about" and/or "check for updates" - if yours is the most current, it will tell
you, or give you the opportunity to download an official update...
In the specific case of FF, it does the checking without asking (at least in my
version, 4.0)...

Got me Ron! I am not really worrying about being up to date on this laptop as
it will prob be replaced come the fall. Anyway, the version that is here seems
to be working fine so due to the pending replacement, I'm not going to do
anything unless FF sends a notice that the update is available.
I didn't go to the FF home page, I just let the computer do its own thing.
Perhaps the home page has the latest version available.
I take it that you didn't come across a virus the way Norm did?
