Ahoy Steve,

My setup has a house battery (Trojan L16HC x4) and a starting battery (8D)
connected by one of Andina's Combiners. I normally charge the house
battery via solar or wind or main engine alternator or genset and the
starting battery automatically gets topped up. This arrangement has worked
perfectly for many years of cruising and living on the hook.

I have a big on-off switch to connect the house and start batteries
together in case the start battery fails me but I have not used it in years.

Perhaps you could use your 1-2-both switch to connect your two house
batteries so you could use Ahmet's Equalizer to alternatively top up each
other in the future.

But otherwise there appears to be nothing to gained by not just connecting
all your house batteries together with a Combiner between them and the
start battery.

I don't know what a Dual Circuit switch is.
